I just love panoramas, they are easy to do, and have a surreal look to them!
This is a pano of “Tin City” a famous spot on the long Stockton Beach just north of Newcastle.
Take a number of shots with a 40% overlap, have the camera vertical and shoot away. I usually use 4 or 5 images to make the pano ( pano is the tech term in the photography trade) , you can use Photoshop or other photo editing software to pull it all together. Keep the focal length of the lens the same, wide angle lenses give a very distinct curve in the image. experiment, photography is to be enjoyed!
You cannot make up for bad composition but the images are just wonderful… Warning – Pano’s with waves in them are very difficult to get the waves to blend together. They can look silly.
