Here in Australia we pay a lot of money for our mobile phones… and excess data charges. I can remember the days when user were charged for every phone calls and SMS’s. All of this has gone now…. but handsets are so very expensive. Nokias used to be around $300. Now a Samsung S9 or iPhone will set you back over $1000 and the cost is just going up.. Do we really need the best & latest phones…. I’m really not sure.
But its on a Plan…. so why should I care? Well when that contract runs out, usually 2 years, you go back and do it all again. What happens if your employment changes and you can’t bill your boss for your calls…
I have gone from a Samsung S8+. Down to a Samsung A5, I was given the A5 and I quite like it. Gone is Bixby.. not a loss, I don’t really notice the difference. It works with all my apps. It doesn’t seem much slower that the S8+. which makes me think, I will go prepaid and buy my handsets outright in the future. How would this work?
I also wonder about the Apple platform…. how would the SE type of phones go? Any feedback here… I don’t think it will be too far away where phones are $2000 each…
What do you think?
