Yesterday turned out to be quite a funny day.
When I was growing up, for as long as I can remember, we had these plastic red cups. I’d never seen anyone with a set. I honestly can’t remember a time without them, so I assume we picked them up when we were in the States back in 1970.
Recently, while on a cruise, I took a closer look at the plastic cups they were using. This time I noticed a brand name. A quick search on Amazon and there it was — my red cup. So I ordered two. They arrived yesterday.
At the same time, Liz and I were cleaning up and went into our roof storage area. Hidden away at the back was my old Globite black plastic school bag.

I’ve been looking for that thing for years. I’d assumed one of the kids had taken it, or that it had simply been lost along the way.
Now I’m drinking out of my red plastic cup and admiring my old school bag. It’s amazing how calming these little rediscoveries can be. I’m sure therapy could explain why.
